As a United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) project, ICHET is particularly concerned with the role of education for the implementation of a hydrogen inclusive economy. This is why the Centre pays great attention to educational activities. In its long term strategy, ICHET aims to train not only the decision makers, but also young people so as to popularize knowledge of hydrogen. For this purpose, ICHET gives short training programmes to graduate students, academics and government agencies about hydrogen technologies, hydrogen production and storage, fuel cell technologies and combination technologies. These courses, given by internationally known experts, also provide practical demonstrations and an opportunity to use the Centre's fuel cell test laboratory. To inform students about hydrogen energy system with most updated news, monthly e-newsletters are sent to high schools. In addition fuel cell model-car competition is also an ongoing activity.
