The H2 Ekokaravan is a self-sustained RV-type vehicle fitted with a wind turbine and an array of photovoltaic cells. Complete with all the modern facilities, it is able to produce its own electricity from wind and solar energy or from the stored hydrogen obtained through electrolysis during excess electricity production.
ICHET has initiated a series of pilot projects aiming at raising public awareness of hydrogen energy technologies and developing locally the competences and skills required for their integrated implementation.

ICHET is organizing workshops and seminars for the training of students, engineers and scientists willing to join the hydrogen energy drive and participate to the upcoming energy revolution.
ICHET supports hydrogen energy related initiatives worldwide. Demonstration projects benefit from a $10,000 financing for feasibility study, followed by up to $1,000,000 for project implementation. The Centre also supports scientists, engineers and industrialists by providing access to laboratories, conferences and workshops.
UNIDO International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies (UNIDO-ICHET) presented a selection of its hydrogen energy based projects during the 18th International Energy and Environment Fair and Conference (ICCI 2012) ICCI 2012 which took place on 25-57 April 2012 at Istanbul Fair Center.
A 5 kW Fuel Cell UPS(Uninterrupted Power Supply) has been installed at Ankara Ostim Headquarter to supply energy for cogeneration system's signalization, controls, computer systems and lightning when the electricity goes off.
Yalova University Industrial Engineering Society has been hosted at UNIDO-ICHET headquarters in Istanbul on 09 March 2012. As per request of society, ICHET organized a single day site training activity including both a seminar as theoretical phase and a laboratory-workshop visit as practical phase of event. During the visit, 36 participant have been informed about hydrogen and related technologies including hydrogen production, storage and energy production and conversion technologies from hydrogen. Participants had opportunity to meet and observe the latest technologies about hydrogen technologies especially on Fuel Cell (FC) technologies at ICHET premises, including some demo application items like Ecocaravan, Ecolift, H2 Passenger Cart and ICHET Fuelling Station (IFP) beyond the R&D Laboratories and workshops.
