Objective

Initiated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Summit aims at bringing together research, industry and world leaders to consider the hydrogen energy system as a realistic solution to global warming and depletion of fossil fuels.

Venue

After two International Hydrogen Energy Congresses (IHEC 2005 and IHEC 2007) Istanbul is becoming an important international centre for hydrogen energy. It is also where the International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies (ICHET) has been established by UNIDO through an agreement with the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. The Summit will take place at the Istanbul Lutfi Kirdar Convention Centre, where 6000 delegates can be accommodated in up to 26 parallel sessions. An exhibition area of about 10,000 m2 will also be provided inside the summit centre to cater for exhibitors.

Summit Chairman

Prof. Dr. I. Engin Türe, Senior Scientific Director of UNIDO-ICHET.
